One of the key strategies the Hub strives to implement is to engage community members in meaningful, impactful, theory-driven, and sustainable research. The purpose of this research is to inform both high-level policy at a local, state and national levels and street-level social justice health outcomes. A central tenet of our work is investment in building long-term relationships that seek to establish and maintain equity between academic and community partners throughout the research process. Pairing academic training and expertise derived from lived experience will allow us to co-create research, from design and implementation to shared ownership in the data, analysis and dissemination of findings.
